My wife and I love Mijas, on the south coast of Spain – it’s our Mediterranean heaven on Earth. We discovered this little old Spanish town in the heart of the Costa del Sol quite by chance around 30 years ago, when some friends invited us to stay. I’d never heard of the place but we were instantly smitten – for this pretty little town, high in the hills, boasts the most marvellous view of the Mediterranean: on a clear day you can see as far as north Africa.
